The association of piano master was found in early 90`s. In the very beginning of its work the following high priority programs were started:
to supply masters with adjusting keys, cartridges for organ and tuning tools
Acquaintance of the Russian masters with the operational experience of world-leading piano firms experts through practical seminars and master-classes.
Regular translations of the special literature
We ascertain that the most programs are completed today and we shall continue to improve them.
The major task of the AoPM today is the definition of legal status of piano and organ master and the salary of these experts. Corresponded documents are sent to the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Labor of Russian Federation .
There are still no professional educational institutions which are preparing the piano masters-tuners in Russia today. The skill of restoration and renovation of pianos is transferred from generation to generation but unfortunately high skilled masters remain ever less.
The main task of AoPM is to unite the masters, give them the opportunity to communicate, exchange the experience and raise their qualification.
The Association with its leader Vladimir Tchastnykh is holding the international practice seminars. For 10 years 20 seminars were held and not only in Moscow , but in other cities of Russia . Over 500 masters took part in these seminars. Video recordings of the seminars become invaluable manuals.
Also the seminars were carried out by leading experts of the famous firms such as Bechstein , Steinway , August Foerster , Seiler , Kawai , Yamaha , Petrof .
Besides seminars the AoPM organizes the training of Russian masters at German factories.
Also the seminars for organ masters are held. With the help of «W.Sauer «firm the long-term program of preparation of organ masters is created.
Branches of AoPM are created in Siberia and Kirov . Two regional seminars were held in Novosibirsk .
AoPM has carried out translation and the edition of three base books for each master: « the Atlas of numbers of a piano », « the Nomenclature of a piano », « the Manual on service of Steinway grand pianos”. Besides AoPM quarterly translates special articles from the magazines issued in Germany .
